Reasons why I love the District of Columbia

1. Good restaurants! Food from all over the world can be found in Washington DC. During my trip to DC last week I ate at one of the oldest restaurants near the White House, Old Ebbits Grill, it was amazing! The next day, I went out to eat at Merekesh, an Ethiopian restaurant, YUM!
2. DC's amazing public transportation system. It is sooooo nice to be able to take the metro/a bus almost anywhere!
3. It is a walkable city. Washington DC is an easy city to just wander around in. There are historic sights to see throughout the city, along with embassies, beautiful neighborhoods and unique buildings.
4. Washington has an atmosphere of intellect and politics. I love that there are so many academics and prominent public policy makers who speak in Washington DC regularly and for free! It is an easy city to learn in as there are so many forums, symposiums, and of course pieces of literature that are easily accessible.
5. Nearly all in the Museums in Washington are free! It is awesome to get to do all your sight-seeing in a day for absolutely no cost. The Smithsonian's and national museums don't charge a cent and the monuments are free to visit.

It was nice to be in Washington DC for the week, sometimes I really miss the city.
